REEF's FLORIDA KEYS ARTIFICIAL REEF MONITORING PROJECT

In 2002-2003, REEF completed an assessment of 16 historical artificial reefs within Monroe County. The specific objective of the project is to evaluate these 16 artificial reef sites and monitor them three times over the course of one year. The 16 sites are composed of bridge spans, concrete rubble, steel pipes, barge, and steel boats that were deployed in the 1980s.  To find out more about this project, contact Lad Akins.
