REEF Ocean Explorers Camp



REEF Ocean Explorers Camp will immerse you into an ocean of learning and fun! Explorers will be exposed to the underwater world, all of its amazing creatures, and a week filled with creative activities and adventures. Discover all that the ocean has to offer and experience conservation actions in the sunny, salty, and wonderful Florida Keys.

July 17-21 at Postcard Inn in Islamorada

July 31-Aug 4 at Postcard Inn in Islamorada

Camp Hours: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Courtesy early drop-off at 8:30 am and late pick up until 3:30pm

Who: REEF camp is recommended for children ages 7-13 

 $300 Camp Tuition Includes:

   ⦁State Park entry fees/ Facility usage fees

   ⦁Activity, field excursion, and equipment fees

   ⦁REEF water bottle and t-shirt

   ⦁Photo Package

REEF will provide a few camp scholarships based on financial situation, hardship, or need of the child. Click here for the Scholarship Application.

Campers are responsible for bringing a sack lunch each day or can add a $50 camp box lunch option for the week. The nutritious meal will include a sandwich (turkey, ham, tuna, cheese, peanut butter and jelly), chips, fruit, and a drink. REEF will provide an afternoon snack each day. 

What to Expect: 

A camp for the ocean-minded and adventurous! Join REEF Ocean Explorers Camp to make a splash this summer! 

Camp hosted at John Pennekamp State Park is heavily based outdoors. The 'home base' is a shaded outdoor pavillion. All swimming opportunities are from the park beach and require a snorkel vest or life jacket. Campers will take a trip on the Glass bottom boat, an opportunity not available at camp hosted at Postcard Inn.

Camp hosted at Postcard Inn features several different amenities. The 'home base' is an airconditioned room equipped with a private bathroom. Swimming opportunities include the resort swimming pool and beach, inlcuding a water trampoline. Campers will visit the Theater of the Sea Marine Park, an opportunity not available at camp hosted at John Pennekamp State Park. 

Each week will include:

   ⦁Snorkel trips to North America's only living coral barrier reef

   ⦁Kayak venture into winding mangrove trails

   ⦁Visit to Theater of the Sea Adventure Park (Only at Post Card Inn Camp)

   ⦁Glass bottom boat ride offering a view from the surface (Only at John Pennekamp State Park Camp)

   ⦁Arts and crafts including a lionfish necklace or keychain

   ⦁Marine science lessons, animal dissections, and conservation activities

   ⦁Opportunity to connect with nature and make new friends
