Great Annual Fish Count Events
6th Annual New England Aquarium Dive Club GAFC Event
This 6th annual event takes place at Stage Fort Park, Gloucester, MA and Nubble Light in York, ME.
The celebration will be centered around Cape Ann, along with dives at Nubble Light. There will be a picnic, free raffles and door prizes. Every survey form submitted after each dive will count as an entry into the raffles for each diver.
Dive Club of Silicon Valley Fish ID Survey Event
The Dive Club of Silicon Valley at Diver Dans, Santa Clara, CA is hosting a Fish ID Survey Event on July 12 at noon at Lovers Point, Pacific Grove. A BBQ is sponsored by the Dive Club.

Biscayne National Park GAFC Event
Identify and count fish at Biscayne National Park as part of the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF)’s Great Annual Fish Count (GAFC). Learn the names of South Florida's reef fish at a free fish ID seminar led by Biscayne National Park staff. Also learn how to conduct REEF fish surveys during any future dive/snorkel trip. The seminar will be held at Biscayne National Park's Dante Fascell Visitor Center auditorium from 08:30 – 11:30 AM. Commencing at 12:30 PM, the afternoon will be dedicated to putting your new fish identification skills to use during a reduced-price dive/snorkel trip to two of the park’s coral reefs.
Biscayne National Park GAFC Event
Identify and count fish at Biscayne National Park as part of the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF)’s Great Annual Fish Count (GAFC). After a free morning seminar on how to conduct REEF fish surveys held at Biscayne National Park's Dante Fascell Visitor Center, the afternoon will be dedicated to putting your new fish identification skills to use during a reduced-price dive/snorkel trip to two of the park’s coral reefs.
The price for the 2-tank dive trip is $65.00 per person (weights & tanks included). The price for snorkeling is $38.00 per person (mask, fins, snorkel included). A REEF survey kit, which includes a special underwater slate, fish identification guide, and required survey forms, will be available for $10.00. All other gear must be provided by the participant or rented. A limited quantity of rental gear is available at the park. Please contact BNUP to reserve equipment. The park is located at 9700 SW 328th St. Homestead, FL.
Bay Area Bottom Timers Dive Club GAFC Fish ID Seminar
The Bay Area Bottom Timers Dive Club is hosting a basic fish ID seminar presented by REEF volunteer, John Wolfe on Wednesday, June 11 at 7:30pm. The seminar will be held at the Bay Area Bottom Timers Dive Club meeting in the Los Kompadrez Restaurant located at 3839 Washington Blvd, Fremont, CA.
Pacific Grove GAFC Group Dive
Participate in a morning group shore dive at 9:00 am, Coral Street, Pacific Grove, California.
Montery Bay Aquarium GAFC Fish ID Seminar
Dive Safety Officer Gil Falcone and REEF volunteer John Wolfe will be presenting a Basic Fish ID Seminar at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 28 at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. An aquarium tour by Gil Falcone will follow the seminar. Please meet by the members' entrance of the aquarium (guest passes are available if arranged beforehand with John Wolfe).
Silicon Valley Fish ID Seminar
The Dive Club of Silicon Valley is offering a Basic Fish ID Seminar presented by PADI IDC Staff Instuctor Mike Davis on Wednesday, June 25 at 7:00pm. The seminar will take place at Diver Dan's in Santa Clara, CA.
Silicon Valley GAFC Marine Invertebrate ID Seminar
NOAA scientist Dr. Steve Lonhart will be presenting a Marine Invertebrate ID Seminar on Monday, June 30 at 7:00pm. The seminar is offered by the Dive Club of Silicon Valley at Diver Dan's in Santa Clara, CA.
Silicon Valley Fish ID Seminar
