Join REEF and the New England Aquarium Dive Club for the 17th Great Annual Fish Count.

Help count fish and win prizes!

Each year divers help researchers by surveying fish populations. Join the largest survey in North America! Multiple dive locations and fabulous raffle prizes!

Celebration Location: Stage Fort Park, Gloucester MA

Date: Saturday July 2st. 2018

Time: 11:30am - 2pm Picnic

3pm Raffle*

*$7 donation for lunch. Divers turning in surveys will receive 1 raffle ticket. Must be present to win. Winners may pick their own prize this year!

  • Pick up trash whenever you can, both above and below water
  • At lunch, bring along a bottle for free drink refills!

PNW GAFC: Saltwater State Park Classes and Dives

Fly into the summer with REEF classes and dives at Saltwater State Park July 7 & 8, 2018. 

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun! If you're new to critterwatching, this is a great introduction. And a perfect refresher for those who are a bit rusty, or those who want to get ready for the next experience level test. 

Practice your newfound classroom knowledge with on-site diving, and satisfy your post-dive hunger pangs with a fun potluck!    

Camping is available - be sure to make a reservation.

Saturday July 7

  • Classroom: 10am Fish ID
  • 11:30am Break, eat, prep for diving
  • 1pm Splash for dive
  • 2:30pm - 4pm Finish Fish ID class, review photos, quiz
  • 5pm Potluck
  • 6:30pm Splash time for 2nd dive

 Sunday July 8

  • Classroom: 9am - 1pm Invertebrate ID
  • 1pm: Prep for dive, eat lunch
  • 2pm Splash time for diving
  • 8pm Splash for 2nd dive

 

Organized by Rhoda Green. Josh Sera, Ed Gullekson, Gregg and Carol Cline, and other REEFers will be there to add their expertise.

GAFC (TWA) Flower Garden Banks Dive Trip inc Fish ID Classes

We will be offering a free Fish ID Course on our trip to the Flower Gardens (offshore texas; closest reef formation to us) on June 29-July 1, 2018. The trip includes potentially 7 dives, accomodations, food, tanks, airfills.

Two day weekend trip $585.00 ($100 deposit to hold spot deducted out of total cost)

   Enriched Air is an additional $65.00

   Cancellation policy: if the trip cancels money back

   Full payment due one month out

Free REEF Fish ID Course, Survey scuba dive(s) - the boat moves to east, west banks, rig dive, and Stetson's bank

Event date: June 29-July 1, 2018 (note: the trip boards the Friday evening prior about 7:00 PM)

Come aboard the MV Fling charter boat to the Flower Garden Marine Sanctuary (Gulf of Mexico). Do REEF survey dives, and learn fish ID in classes taught on board.

FREE FISH ID CLASS – PARTICIPATE IN THE GREAT ANNUAL FISH COUNT!

In July, participate in REEF’s Great Annual Fish Count by learning how to ID fish seen on Florida Keys reefs and submitting a REEF fish ID survey.  Join Allison & Carlos Estape at REEF Headquarters (MM 98.3, Key Largo) at 7 pm on Thursday, July 6th and July 27th to learn how to ID fish seen on Florida Keys Reefs.  On your next dive/snorkel trip, fill in a REEF Volunteer Fish Survey and become a citizen scientist by submitting your sightings to REEF’s Global Fish Survey Database.
