Thanks for your interest in the Lionfish Collecting and Handling Workshop in Savannah, Georgia. This workshop will be held at the McGowan Library Auditorium on the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography campus (10 Ocean Science Circle, Savannah, GA 31411) on June 10th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The workshop will cover the history of the invasion, lionfish biology, ecological impacts, venomology, how to avoid getting stung, first aid for stings, and recommended techniques for collection, handling and filleting. This workshop is made possible through funding from the US Fish and Wildlife Service and support from the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography.
