Found this guy during a dive in Little Cayman. Approximately 9-12 m of water. Extremely shy. As I approached they went into sand. Waited 10 min and still never popped up. Hole was totally circular - no rubble. The fish is approximately 2cm in diameter. There were no other fish in area. Garden eels were about 10m+ away.

Possibly a Bandtooth conger, Ariosoma belearicum

Thank you Carlos. Someone

Thank you Carlos. Someone else also identified this as a Bandtooth Conger. What confused me is the picture in the Humann/Deloach reference book shows coloration as darker - brownish. I saw a very similar fish during a night dive in Anguilla - it was out and quickly buried itself in the sand.
