I found this on Snapper's (diving out of Key Largo).  It seems to be a purple spotted sea goddess.  My Depth was between 20 and 25 feet.  The creature was between 1 and 1.5 inches in length.  I looked it up (in Humann & Deloach) for the initial ID and posted it on the ScubaBoard. According to the book, this species is not known in Florida.  Another member suggested that I notify the Sea Slug Forum.  I wanted to post here as well. It may be something special. I have other shots and higher res, if you need more information.

Thank you.

By no means an expert, but

By no means an expert, but wanted to point out that I have the expanded 2nd edition of the Humann/Deloach book and it states for the Purple-spotted Sea Goddess, "This species has been photographed in Florida Keys,..." p.310 bottom. To me your photo looks just like the Purple-spotted Sea Goddess on the bottom of p. 311.  The book does go on to suggest that lots of more studies need to be done on this nudi as it is "probably an undescribed species" so I say all in all still a very special something.
