lane snapper
Posted February 3rd, 2010 by MartinDick
To me, this looks like a combination of a juvenile and adult lane snapper. Am I, therefore, right in calling it a lane snapper intermediate?

Could be adult.
Seen plenty of adult lane snappers displaying their stripes. I don't think they are an indication on maturity. Perhaps the length of the fish is a better indicator. Adults are about 10 - 15 in.
Thank you.
Thank you.
But it has all those stripes
But it has all those stripes
I'd call it an adult
There can be some variations, so even though it has some red tint in the tail margin, I'd still call it an adult.
