Molasses Reef fish

Unknown, 72ppi.jpg

When I saw this fish under water, I thought it was a juvenile schoolmaster. But, the photo does not look like the juvenile schoolmaster in "Caribbean Reef Fish." The photo was taken April 2 on Molasses Reef in Key Largo, Florida. Depth 26 feet, coral reef, bottom temperature 76 degrees (although I think when my dive computer was recently overhauled the thermometer began reading about four degrees high).

Hmm. Definitely some kind of Hamlet, but I cannot tell which. Possibly a hybrid. Nice find!
