While snorkeling, we saw five or six of these fish in a loose line. I would guess, they are six- to eight-inches long. They have bars. Looking through "Reef Fish," we are guessing a porgy, maybe a sheepshead porgy. Are we close? What are the distinguishing characteristics?

We checked in "Reef Fish." We always wonder how we missed it, but we did. Thank you. It is a constant education for us.
Sincerely,
Marty
