Lizardfishes
Posted August 28th, 2010 by MartinDick
Using "Reef Fish" I could not distinguish this fish from other lizardfishes. I am leaning toward the sand diver. Can you tell me what fish this is, and what the critical distinguishing characteristics are?
August 24, 2010, Molasses Reef, Key Largo, Florida, 22-feet deep, 89-degree bottom temperature.
Thank You,
Marty

Sand Diver
Martin, from the pattern on the fish and the location of the sighting this is most probably a Sand Diver (Syndus intermedius).
Thank You
My deductions are often incorrect. It is nice to get one right.
Thank You,
Marty
