I saw this little guy while photographing some juvenile grunts in Grand Cayman. It looks like a sea bass. However, I'm not totally sure about that, and I'm certainly not sure about which one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Redspotted Hawkfish. It's the only member of its family (Hawkfishes) that lives in the Caribbean so it's an easy one to miss.
Thanks for the help. I've only seen one other one. I was right on top of it, so it was easy to identify. The spots and dorsal fin tassels were clearly visible, but that was not the case with this one. Now, I'll be better at spotting them from a distance.
