Triplefin?

Any ideas? This was taken in about 20' of water in coral rubble in Bonaire. Some suggested a triplefin, but the body does not seem to be the correct shape.

‹ Scarus coelestinus (Midnight Parrotfish) ??? or cross with Rainbow Parrotfish ? Is this perhaps a juvenile Graysby or a Hairy Blenny? ›

Not a triplefin, but a member of the Chaenopsid family (Tube or Pike Blennies). I have no idea which specie or even genus, but maybe Ben V. can help.

Thanks. It does not seem to have enough snout for a pike blenny.
