DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Two white spots on upper half of each side.

DESCRIPTION:

Upper half of body dark with two white spots, lower half orange-yellow.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Black eye mask and white crescent.

DESCRIPTION:

Yellow and black with a raccoon-like mask.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Bright orange lines run diagonally along side of body.

DESCRIPTION:

Body white with 6 orange bands, yellow head with black bars.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Narrow bands of small brown spots. 2. Black band at base of tail.

DESCRIPTION:

Pale body with several brown bars that are widely spaced. Black band at base of tail. Endemic to Hawaii.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Long snout.

DESCRIPTION:

Yellow body with white chin and chest. The snout is extremely long and slender. Shouldn't be confused with the similar looking longnose butterflyfish, which has a much longer snout.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Bright orange wash on back, blue body.

DESCRIPTION:

Small angelfish that is bright to rusty orange on the top, fading to a bright blue area on the sides. Endemic to Hawaii.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Bright gold ring around eye. 2. Thin blue lines run length of body.

DESCRIPTION:

Brown surgeonfish with numerous light blue lines that extend onto the dorsal fin. Eye has distinct gold ring.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Bright yellow with white spine at base of tail.

DESCRIPTION:

Bright yellow surgeonfish with white caudal spine. Has a distinctly pointed snout.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Six black bands.

DESCRIPTION:

Yellowish cream to white or silvery. Single retractile spine at base of tale.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: 1. Long dorsal fin end with thread-like tip. 2. Long snout. 3. Three bold black bands over eye to ventral fins, rear body and on tail.

DESCRIPTION:

White with yellowish areas. Orange saddle outlined in black on snout. Short horns or spines over eyes. Common throughout region and the tropical Indo-Pacific.
