REEF's first Field Survey to Tonga provides an extremely rare opportunity to conduct surveys in Ha'apai area. We have very little data from this area, and very few people have dived the locations we will be visiting on this trip. Tonga is best known for humpback whale watching, and although we won't be searching for whales on this trip, there is plenty of other unique marine life and habitats just waiting to be discovered. It will be Tonga's winter during our trip, which means slightly lower water temperatures (approximately mid-70's) but clear waters and great visibility! We are excited to see what awaits on the remote offshore reefs of Tonga. For those who wish to extend their stay in Tonga at a land-based resort to do some additional diving or whale watching, our partners at NAI'A can provide some recommendations.
