Divers love visiting Curacao for its diverse mix of dive sites, including sloping dropoffs, healthy coral reefs, and even artificial reefs and wrecks. Boat diving as well as onsite shore diving is included in this package, and divers will enjoy a conservation-minded atmosphere while diving with Ocean Encounters, the dive operator at Lions Dive Resort. With a beautiful house reef onsite, plenty of opportunities for surveying and fish finds await.

Pricing: $1,558 per diver based on double occupancy. Single occupancy is also available by request - please inquire with REEF Trips for more information.
Accommodations: The standard accommodation is in a Run of the House room with a garden, pool or street view and a shared terrace or balcony. All rooms have 1 king-sized bed or 2 double beds, a bathroom with shower, (shared) terrace or balcony, hair dryer, air conditioning, ceiling fan, refrigerator, safe, cable TV, direct telephone line and free internet access. Lion’s Dive Resort has several room types and upgrades to ocean view and ocean front rooms may be available on a first come first serve basis. Diving: The package includes five days of 2-tank boat trips with Ocean Encounters starting Sunday, Aug. 21 and ending Thursday, Aug. 27, as well as unlimited shore diving. A free welcome dive is included on the day of arrival, and a private dive guide is available for an additional charge with advance notice required. The average water temperature in Curacao during the time of the trip is 85 degrees F.
Price Includes: The trip package includes 7 nights of double occupancy accommodation, daily breakfast, 5 days of 2-tank boat dives, unlimited shore diving from August 21-28, welcome shore dive on the day of arrival, airport transfers, tanks, and weights.
REEF Program Fee: A REEF Program Fee of $300 will be added to each package to cover the cost of the group leader, seminar and REEF survey materials. The REEF Program Fee applies to all individuals over the age of 18. It is also applicable to minors under 18 who occupy a space on the dive boat.
Additional Fees: The following costs are not included in the price paid to REEF: all flights, meals other than breakfast, optional nitrox, and optional rental equipment. Gratuities for the crew are not included in the cost and are at each individual's discretion.
Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is not included. REEF strongly recommends that each participant purchase adequate dive travel insurance to protect you from unforeseen circumstances. REEF partners with both DiveAssure and DAN to offer travel insurance packages specifically for divers. REEF will receive a portion of the proceeds from travel insurance purchases when you click on the following affiliate links for DiveAssure or DAN.
About the Trip Leader: Ellie Place is REEF’s Conservation Coordinator for the Volunteer Fish Survey Project (VFSP). Ellie works closely with many individuals and partner organizations who participate in the VFSP and Invasive Lionfish Program, helping to engage the public with REEF’s citizen science programs through coordinating the Fishinar series, acting as the participant contact for the Trips Program, and managing the Conservation Partner program. Ellie is an expert level surveyor and member of REEF’s Advanced Assessment Team for the Tropical Western Atlantic region, with additional surveys completed in California and the Pacific Northwest.

How to Get There: Participants should book round-trip flights to Curacao (CUR) arriving on Saturday, Aug. 22 and departing on the following Saturday, Aug. 29. Participants are responsible for booking their own airfare. REEF is not able to book air travel for participants.
Passports, Documentation and Visas: U.S. citizens visiting Curacao are required to have a valid passport with one blank page. Citizens of most countries who are visiting for less than 90 days do not need a visa, however residents of certain countries may need to obtain a valid visa. Please consult the appropriate embassy about requirements for visiting Curacao.
Transfers: Round-trip airport transfers are included in the package price paid to REEF and will be arranged in advance.
