Dove in Cozumel last week. My wife and I saw a creature that was about 10-14" long, maybe 1/4" in diameter, and had the shape of snake eel, with a pointed head and tail. It was yellow, maybe even bright yellow, with no discernable markings of any sort. It was in 25 feet of water close to shore, in an area where I've seen sharptail eels in that past (but no goldspotted).

Could it be a juvenile of either a sharptail or goldspotted? Maybe just a color morph of one of them? Something else, but rarely seen?

Perhaps it would be worth noting that another couple saw it 2 days after I did, verifying the color and shape.
