Deposit and Payments
To book a space on a REEF Trip, contact us at us at trips@REEF.org, or call us at 305-588-5869. To secure your space, the following deposit schedule applies:
Booking greater than 180 days prior to departure:
Booking 90 days or fewer prior to departure:
If your plans change and you need to cancel your space, the following cancellation schedule applies:
Cancelling or switching between REEF trips greater than 180 days from departure:
Full refund minus $100 processing fee. Please note that an additional $300 cancellation fee applies to Indo/South Pacific trips cancelled greater than 180 days from departure.
Cancelling 180 – 90 days from departure:
75% of the total deposit on hand with REEF at date of cancellation is NON-refundable.
Cancelling less than 90 days from departure:
No refunds available.
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing.
REEF may alter the payment schedule or cancellation policy based on vendor rules for a particular trip. Please consult the individual trip details and with REEF's travel consultants at 305-588-5869 or trips@REEF.org to determine a particular trip's cancellation policy and payment deadlines.
No refunds will be issued for unused portions of any dive travel package (including but not limited to ground transportation, dives, nitrox, meals).
REEF Trips require a minimum number of participants. Trips are subject to cancellation if the minimum requirement is not met. In the event of a trip cancellation, REEF and/or any of our travel booking partners are not responsible for airline tickets purchased for travel to a REEF Field Survey.
REEF strongly recommends that each REEF Trip participant carry adequate dive and/or travel insurance to protect themselves in advance against any unforeseen circumstances that may occur with travel. Any liabilities for trip interruptions, cancellations, or general travel disputes will be the responsibility of the traveler.

REEF Program Fee
A REEF Program Fee ($150-$350) will be added to each trip to cover the cost of the group leader, seminars, survey materials, and data management. Program Fees vary depending on the location and duration of the trip. Other additional fees for each trip vary. Please consult with the individual trip information for details.
All prices quoted are per person, based on double occupancy unless otherwise noted. Prices do not include airfare. REEF is not able to book air travel.
For most trips, a limited number of single occupancy rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are a single and would like to be paired with a roommate, we will do our best to accommodate your request based on the number and gender of other single participants. Participants will be notified if a suitable roommate is not available within 30 days of the trip departure, in which case the single occupancy rate will apply.
All single travelers will be paired with a roommate of the same gender (based on availability) upon signing up for the trip, unless single occupancy is requested by the participant at the time of registration. If you wish to switch your reservation from double to single occupancy after you have been paired with a roommate, you may be responsible for covering the cost of your intended roommate’s single supplement, in addition to your own.
Non-diving prices are available for most land-based trips.
All REEF Trip participants must submit a signed REEF Liability Form to REEF Headquarters prior to the trip. Click here to complete the online form.
In addition to the above Liability Form, REEF Invasive Lionfish Study participants also need to submit a signed Lionfish Assumption of Risk form prior to the trip. Click here to complete the online form.
After signing up for a REEF Trip, all participants should complete the REEF Trips Sign Up Form to provide up-to-date contact information and other relevant details. The Sign Up Form is linked here.
All REEF Trip participants will receive a limited edition REEF Field Survey Team t-shirt and a survey kit of materials. Prior to departing on a REEF Trip, participants will be asked to fill out a Trip Registration Form. The link for this form will be sent to participants via e-mail approximately 6 weeks prior to the trip. Participants must complete this form at least 30 days prior to the trip departute date to ensure that survey materials may be mailed in time to arrive. On rare occasions, circumstances do not permit REEF to mail survey materials directly to participants. If this is the case, you will be notified in advance by the Trips Program Manager and the Trip Leader will bring the survey materials to the trip destination.
