REEF Discovery, Behavior and Cryptic Species Tours

These are specialized Field Surveys led by REEF co-founders and acclaimed marine life authors, Paul Humann and Ned DeLoach. These projects focus on introducing participants to the wide variety and fascinating behaviors of marine life found on coral reefs. While fish identification and REEF surveying is not always the primary goal of these specialized trips, conducting REEF surveys is always encouraged and materials and guidance is provided.Upcoming opportunities include:

REEF Discovery Tour, June 21-28, 2008, Key Largo -- Led by Paul Humann.Discovery Tours are designed for divers and snorkelers who are interested in learning more about marine life and the environment to enhance their diving experiences. Each day World-renowned Author/Photographer Paul Humann will be giving presentations about reef fish and creature identification, their function and behavior, and environmental issues facing the underwater world we love. Cryptic Species Tour, July 26-August 2 and August 2-9, 2008, St. Vincent (Grenadines) -- Led by Paul Humann and Ned and Anna DeLoach.The Cryptic Species Tour is designed for experienced REEF surveyors and creature watchers who are interested in learning more about the cryptic and small creatures that call the reefs around St. Vincent home. Renowned marine life authors and photographers, Paul Humann and Ned and Anna DeLoach will lead the two week project. They will give presentations about cryptic reef fish and creature identification. Our host, Bill Tewes, will guide the group on daily dives. More Information

REEF Behavior Tour, October 3 - 10, 2009, Bermuda -- Led by Ned and Anna DeLoach. World-renowned marine naturalists, Ned and Anna DeLoach, authors of Reef Fish Identification and Reef Fish Behavior, will join local expert REEF instructor, Judie Clee, and Chris Flook, Collector of Specimens for the Bermuda Aquarium, as your trip leaders for the week. Ned and Anna will schedule slide and video fish presentations about the wonderful world of marine life behavior and fish identification.
