2nd Annual Florida Keys Lionfish Derby Series

• Pre-register your team of up to 4 members by Wednesday November 2th and pay only $120. 
  

• Late registration will stay open until the Friday before the derby, November 4th, but the registration fee will increase to $150.

*Payment can also be made at the late registration/Captain's meeting on Friday Nov. 4th.
*Last chance to register is at the late-registration/Captain's Meeting between 5:30 and 6:30pm on Nov. 4th.

Schedule of Events

Friday November 4th:

5:30 - 6:30pm: Late registration at Hurricane Hole
7:00pm: Captain's Meeting* at Hurricane Hole 

*Captain's Meeting is mandatory for the team captains, and all team members are encouraged to attend. There will be a briefing on safe collection and handling procedures for lionfish.
*Each member of the team must fill out a liability waiver, found at the bottom of the page, and submit it before or at the Captain's Meeting. 

Saturday November 5th (Derby Day):  

Sunrise: Teams may begin collecting lionfish.
4:00 - 6:00pm: All lionfish must be turned in to the scoring station at the derby location.
5:30 - 7:00pm: Social and lionfish tasting open to the public.
7:00 - 7:30pm: Raffle and awards ceremony.
7:30pm: Banquet begins.
*Hurricane Hole will be offering drink specials for Lionfish Derby participants all day!

Prizes are awarded to the top 3 teams in each category 

Most Lionfish: $1,000 cash, $500 cash, $250 gift card to Diver's Direct

Biggest Lionfish: $500 cash, $200 cash, $100 gift card to Diver's Direct 

Smallest Lionfish: $500 cash, $200 cash, $100 gift card to Diver's Direct

Derby Day Raffle

Every registration package comes with 4 raffle tickets!
Buy more raffle tickets at the Captain's Meeting (Friday, November 4) or anytime after 4pm on Derby Day!
$1 for 1 ticket, $10 for 12!

Banquet at Hurricane Hole

Every registration packet comes with 2 banquet tickets!

Banquet menu includes:
BBQ chicken breasts
Shrimp pomodoro
Cornbread
Steamed vegetables

Soft drinks and coffee or tea

*Hurricane Hole will be offering drink specials to all derby participants.

 *Each registration package will include 2 banquet tickets.  Additional banquet tickets will be available at Hurricane Hole for $15 a piece.

Special Note: A platter of lionfish may also be served if there are leftovers available after the public lionfish tasting.
