Biscayne National Park GAFC Event

Identify and count fish at Biscayne National Park as part of the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF)’s Great Annual Fish Count (GAFC).  After a free morning seminar on how to conduct REEF fish surveys held at Biscayne National Park's Dante Fascell Visitor Center, the afternoon will be dedicated to putting your new fish identification skills to use during a reduced-price dive/snorkel trip to two of the park’s coral reefs.

The price for the 2-tank dive trip is $65.00 per person (weights & tanks included).  The price for snorkeling is $38.00 per person (mask, fins, snorkel included).  A REEF survey kit, which includes a special underwater slate, fish identification guide, and required survey forms, will be available for $10.00.  All other gear must be provided by the participant or rented.  A limited quantity of rental gear is available at the park. Please contact BNUP to reserve equipment. The park is located at 9700 SW 328th St. Homestead, FL.
