The Sea of Cortez has an abundance of life, including whale sharks, whales, sharks, a wide diversity of reef fish and colorful invertebrates including many nudibranches. Water temperature in October will be about 80F. The Rocio del Mar liveaboard travels to the northern islands of the Sea of Cortez and it is the only vessel that visits this area.
The boat boards and returns from Rocky Point/Puerto Peñasco, Mexico. Participants should plan to check into the boat by 3pm on October 9th and will disembark the following Saturday morning after breakfast. There are several shuttle services from Phoenix, Arizona, and you can also drive a personal car there (about 3 1/2 hours by car; there is secure parking, $5.day, at the port).

+ $300 REEF Program Fee per diver will be added to each package to cover the cost of the group leader, seminars, survey materials, and data management.
