REEF conducts FREE Lionfish Collection and Handling Workshops!
At teach workshop, REEF staff cover the background of the invasion, biology/ecology of lionfish, impacts, and current research findings, as well as a hands-on lesson in how to safely collect and handle lionfish using hand nets, polespears and zookeepers. REEF will also cover the many ways that you can combat the lionfish invasion underwater, and on land. Upon completion of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to obtain a permit which allows you to remove lionfish with HAND NETS ONLY within Sanctuary Preservation Areas within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
Experienced and novice lionfish collectors are encouraged to attend. Attendance is FREE. Save time and reserve your space by Pre-Registering today! Walk-ins are always welcome.
