The 2026 REEF Educator in the Field will join the REEF Field Survey Trip to Bonaire at Buddy's Dive Resort from July 11-18, 2026. To apply for this opportunity, you must be available to fully participate on this trip.

INSTRUCTIONS

To apply for the REEF Educator in the Field Fellowship, fill out this application. In addition to the questions in this form, you will upload a single PDF document that includes:

  • Cover Letter addressed to Hilary Penner, REEF Director of Program Development
  • Answers to the following open-ended response questions (2 pg max total): 
  1. What do you hope to get out of this experience?
  2. How will you share your educational experience with your students/audience?
  3. Describe relevant past experiences and/or synergistic activities that would enhance your participation as the REEF Educator in the Field and/or could be leveraged to further the impact of your participation.
  4. Describe any past interactions or experiences with REEF's educational and citizen science programs, if relevant.

The single PDF that includes the above elements should be labeled with your first and last name in the file name.

One letter of recommendation is also required, either submitted with the application here as an attachment with this form, or submitted directly by your letter writer using the Reference Letter Upload Form here: www.REEF.org/educator/reference
