When and where did you do your first REEF survey?  What got you started?
My first survey was in Roatan and I got started as one part of my master scuba diver course. My instructor was into surverying and I liked having something to do while I dive.

When and where did you do your 1,000th Survey? Tell us anything memorable about your 1,000th survey?
I did my 1000th here in Roatan as well on 7/23/2026 at Moray Lagoon.

In which regions have you done surveys?  What experience levels are you in those other regions?  Do you have any favorite dive spots in those places?
I've done surveys in TWA, SOP, and CIP. I am an expert in TWA and amatuer in the others, although I am going to try to get a higher level in CIP since we are going to the Red Sea and Maldives next year.

What are some of your favorite fishes or invertebrates?  What makes them your favorite?
I love Arrow Blennies, Midnight and Rainbow Parrotfish and Peppermint Basslets. Just because it requires extra effort to find them.

What is your favorite thing/memory about REEF and the Volunteer Survey Project?
I like to share the Volunteer Fish Survey Project while I'm dive trips. People are interested in what I'm doing so I get to promote it.

What are your goals with REEF for the future?
Is there a 2000 survey level?--that's my next goal! Hopefully it wont take me 10 years.
I came to diving late. I was 53 when we got certified and then years went by with maybe two dive days per year. Now, I'm living the dream in Roatan, diving off the back deck, and rescuing animals. Life is good!
