The brand-new REEF Ocean Exploration Center set to open the weekend of World Ocean Day, June 7-8. Based in Key Largo, the Center will be a hub for ocean discovery, environmental awareness, and hands-on learning. It will feature immersive exhibits and activities, plus a state-of-the-art classroom to support our education programs.

The Center will serve learners of all ages and backgrounds, from school field trips, homeschool students, workshop attendees, and tour groups. Students can explore REEF’s Grouper Moon Project and then visit our Nassau Grouper exhibit to learn about the innovative technology used to estimate population size and abundance. Visitors can also dive into Florida Keys fish identification, then join in our "Century Dive" surveying activity to find as many species as possible - more than 100 species are hidden throughout the Center!

Whether you’re a student, teacher, or lifelong learner, we invite you to dive into ocean discovery with us. The Ocean Exploration Center is more than just a space, it’s a gateway to understanding and protecting our blue planet. Come learn, explore, and be inspired!
