Registration for the 2026 Florida Keys Lionfish Derby

Use this form to register your Lionfish Derby Team. One registration per team, teams consist of 2-4 divers. Teams can participate at one of two competative levels: Apex Predatory or Reef Defender. See the Derby event page for more details on the team levels.

2026 Lionfish Derby - April 23-26, 2026

REEF's 17th annual event will include two full days of lionfish fishing, followed by weigh-in, awards, and family festival at the REEF Campus in Key Largo on Sunday April 27, 2025.  Team registration will close April 23, 2026 at 6:30pm ET.

Team Registration Costs

Early Bird Registration Rates
$90 per team before March 20, 2026

Regular Registration Rate
$120 per team on or before April 23, 2026 through 6:30pm ET

Minimum 2 people per team, maximum 4 people

Registration fees are nonrefundable

Derby Event Schedule

Thursday, Apr 23, 2026 - 5:00-7:30 PM: Captain's Meeting for registered derby teams 

  • Captains Meeting and Kick-off Party at Florida Keys Brewing Company, Islamorada, FL
  • Captains Meeting can be attended via Zoom (link sent out to registrants)
  • Presentation begins at 6:30PM 

Friday, Apr 24, 2026

  • Fishing sunrise to sundown

Saturday, Apr 25, 2026

  • Fishing sunrise to sundown

Sunday, Apr 26, 2026 - NO FISHING

  • Team Weigh-in/Fish Drop off 9:00AM - 12:30PM 
  • Festival - Lionfish scoring, fillet and dissection demonstrations, tastings, games, and team awards at REEF Campus 
  • Awards Ceremony
