Dive into Saltwater State Park's vibrant marine ecosystem at our upcoming REEF Marine Life Top 25 event. This unique experience offers an engaging educational journey through the park’s diverse habitats, guided by the expertise of REEF, the Reef Environmental Education Foundation.

Participants will learn to identify the park's top 25 fish and marine critters, contributing to valuable long-term data through REEF surveys.

NOTE this dive has been canceled due to bad weather

Autumn is a wonderful time to dive, and this is the perfect opportunity to practice your newly refreshed fish ID skills from the Zoom class on Thursday November 14. (register if you haven't already). But you don't have to attend the class to come to this dive.

We will provide identification photos and survey kits if needed.

Join REEF Volunteer Expert Jackie Myers on a special Zoom session, Thursday, November 14 at 6:30pm for a mini-review of South Puget Sound fish and invertebrates including a brief tutorial on how to enter survey results in the REEF database.

We are excited to welcome Paul Bonatz to the Golden Hamlet Club, which honors the achievements of those who have conducted and submitted 1,000 REEF surveys as part of the Volunteer Fish Survey Project. As the 47th REEF surveyor to achieve this milestone, Paul's name will be added to a special Golden Hamlet Club plaque that is displayed at the REEF Campus in Key Largo, FL.

The Golden Hamlet Club is a highly dedicated group of surveyors who have conducted 1,000 or more REEF surveys as part of the Volunteer Fish Survey Project. We are filled with fishy delight to welcome Todd Cliff to the Golden Hamlet Club! Todd started surveying in 2002 in Washington state. He has conducted surveys in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii regions, and has reached Expert Level status in both!
