REEF’s second Mediterranean adventure takes us to the beautiful island of Cyprus. From our home base in Ayia Napa, we’ll dive the world‑famous Zenobia wreck, explore the Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa (MUSAN), and cross to the Turkish side of the island to dive and visit a historic castle. Expect soft white sand, crystal‑clear Mediterranean water, and a relaxed atmosphere. Our timing avoids the busy season while still offering the best of what Cyprus has to offer.

Project Focus: The purpose of this trip is to conduct fish surveys to support REEF's Volunteer Fish Survey Project. Click here to learn more about participating in fish surveys on a REEF Field Survey Trip!

Best Suited For: Divers, Snorkelers, and Non-divers. There are plenty of options to snorkel or enjoy the many land based acitivites on the island. Please inquire for more details.

Accommodations: Accommodations are provided by Liquid Hotel and Apartments. The hotel is located across the street from the dive shop and a short walk from the beach. Accommodations include recently renovated 1-bedroom apartments, with one or two beds, a fully-equipped kitchen with fridge, oven/hob, kettle, utensils and cookware, Wifi, private glass balcony, and private en-suite bathroom with WC tub/shower and complimentary toiletries. Meals are NOT included in the package. There are a number of markets and restaurants within walking distance. There is also an on-site cafe and restaurant.

Diving: Diving is done with Undersea World and includes 5 days of 2-tank dives. There will be 2 days of shore dives, 2 days of boat wreck dives, and a 2-tank boat dive trip in northern Cyprus. Shore dives are done from the beach, so participants should be able to carry their gear for a short distance. The Wreck days include dives at the famous Zenobia wreck, along with two nearby shallower sites. The Zenobia wreck dive is between 55-100ft. On the day of the Northern Cyprus trip, we will be transferred to the Turkish side of the island, complete a 2-tank boat trip, and visit a castle on the way back. Nitrox is included for certified divers on the wreck days and can be added to shore dives for an additional fee. Nitrox is not available for the Northern Cyprus trip. Water temp is generally in the lower 80s, but thermoclines are common. A 3-5mm is recommended based on cold tolerance. Snacks, water, and drinks are provided between dives.

Be prepared for your plans to change. Be sure your travel insurance covers COVID-related issues. No travel is risk-free during the COVID-19 pandemic. Countries may further restrict travel or bring in new rules at short notice, for example, due to a new COVID-19 variant. Please be aware that REEF is not a travel agent. We are doing our best to interpret the information provided by our trip vendor and the host country’s government COVID-19 webpages. We encourage everyone to do their own research, interpretation, and due diligence. Please see REEF’s COVID-19 Considerations and Vaccine Policies section in our REEF Field Survey Trips Policies page for more information.
