Fiji is known as a hotspot for diving, with massive schools of pelagics such as Bigeye Trevally, Scad, and Barracuda, Gray Reef and Whitetip Reef Sharks, and unusual creatures like the Leaf Scorpionfish and Ornate Ghost Pipefish. Fiji's Bligh Waters even have a dive site called Humann Nature, named for REEF Co-Founder Paul Humann! The luxurious NAI'A is world-renowned for her crew of experienced Fijian divers and sailors known for their friendliness and expertise. The itinerary also includes a visit to a traditional Fijian village, providing a great cultural experience in addition to unforgettable diving.

REEF will receive a portion of the proceeds from travel insurance purchases when you click on the following affiliate links for DiveAssure or DAN.

How to Get There: Participants should make arrangements to fly into Nadi International Airport (airport code NAN), arriving on or before March 18, and departing on or after March 28. Participants are responsible for booking their own airfare. REEF is not able to book air travel for participants.

Transfers: Participants will be transferred from Nadi to the boat at 1pm on March 18 and back to the Nadi area (airport or hotel) after disembarking at 8am on March 28. The NAI'A office can recommend in-transit hotels that offer half-day rates to accommodate early arrival and late departure times. Please contact Alexx at explore@naia.com.fj for assistance in booking day rooms and extending your stay in Fiji.

Passports, Documentation and Visas: To clear customs and immigration in Fiji, you must show a passport that is valid for at least 6 months and a return airline ticket. Citizens of most countries do not require a visa to enter Fiji. Please consult the appropriate consulate to be sure you have the appropriate documentation for travel.

COVID-19 Considerations: It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that they understand and comply with all local requirements (for entry and visit as a tourist) of the host destination, and for exit and entry requirements for their home country. Be prepared for your plans to change. Be sure your travel insurance covers COVID-related issues. No travel is risk-free during the COVID-19 pandemic. Countries may further restrict travel or bring in new rules at short notice, for example, due to a new COVID-19 variant. Please be aware that REEF is not a travel agent. We are doing our best to interpret the information provided by our trip vendor and the host country’s government COVID-19 webpages. We encourage everyone to do their own research, interpretation, and due diligence. Please see REEF’s COVID-19 Considerations and Vaccine Policies section in our REEF Field Survey Trips Policies page for more information.
