Blue-spotted Ribbontail Ray - Conservation Creature Plush
REEF Conservation Creatures are iconic marine species from REEF’s Volunteer Fish Survey Project regions. These marine creatures highlight the diversity of ocean ecosystems and encourage understanding and respect for marine life. We hope they inspire you to join REEF and learn more about the marine environment.
The Blue-spotted Ribbontail Ray (Taeniura lemma) have bright blue spots covering their circular bodies and several venomous spines at the tip of their tail. The spots act as a warning to potential predators. These rays have an electroreceptor system, which they use to find prey and communicate with other members of their species. They are found in tropical waters, including REEF’s CIP and SOP regions.
You can chose to simply purchase the plush, or symbolically adopt the Conservation Creature and help further REEF's marine conservation mission.
