After taking a ferry across the channel, we will spend 3 days diving in typically clear waters and beautiful kelp forests. Invasive Lionfish Research Study – GO WEST Diving & Kura Hulanda Lodge and Beach Club


This is the third annual project to Curacao to document the establishment and consequences of invasive lionfish as part of REEF's ongoing effort to minimize the Indo-Pacific predator's impact on native fish populations. Participants will have an opportunity to be trained in lionfish collection and dissections of specimens to document prey.

Ned and Anna DeLoach will delight trip participants with amazing pictures, videos, and stories, covering fish ID and behavior. The group will also search for many of the fish species restricted to this region, such as the Filament Blenny, Bearded Toadfish, and Kuna Goby.
