REEF Trips Program and Communications Manager

On December 14th, 2014, REEF staff and volunteers recorded the third successful pre-emptive removal of a non-native fish in south Florida coastal waters when they removed a mimic lemon peel surgeonfish (Acanthurus pyroferus) from waters under the Blue Heron Bridge in Palm Beach County.

The Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF), headquartered in Key Largo, has appointed Martha Klitzkie as general manager.  Klitzkie began her career as education director at the Pigeon Key Foundation in Marathon.  She went on to direct a larger marine education program based at Camp Ocean Pines on the central coast of California.

Flushing your pet tropical fish in order to set it free is a bad idea. But so is releasing it into the wild.

On Saturday April 25th, 2009, the headquarters of the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF), located in Key Largo, Florida, will be dedicated in honor James E. Lockwood. The dedication ceremony will be held at the historic conch house located in the median of Highway 1 at Mile Marker 99.8 from 1 - 3pm.
